Falafel Warp, The perfect Iftar Treat

Hello there, beautiful readers! I’m back with another blog. Since everyone is making delicious recipes for sehri and Iftar during Ramadan, which is observed worldwide and brings with it the joy of gathering around the table , allow me to share what I made for Iftar yesterday using only ingredients that I had on hand. After all, who wants to spend hours in the kitchen after a demanding day of fasting? This is where our HERO  “wraps”  come in handy.

With a hint of acidity, spice, and sauciness, these wraps are incredibly flavorful and really wake up our taste senses

Now let’s consider its benefits.

1) These wraps are super easy to make.

2) These can be used again n again, just make 10-15 falafels once , and refrigerate them, and whenever you are craving to eat, just take one from the refrigerator, either deep fry or air fry or bake , YOUR CHOICE.

3) it is customisable, you want to add veggies, go for it, you want it to be healthy, just air fry or bake, you like it with hummus, you can add on it.

4) It’s perfect for grabbing on the go.

5) It is simply delicious.

Falafel wrap recipe. Simple and Scrumptious

INGREDIENTS

  • Pita bread
  • Chick peas ( soaked over night)
  • 1 onion
  • 3 green chilli chopped
  • Coriander leaves choooed
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 4 -5 garlic cloves
  • A little bit of water
  • Salt, red chilli powder for flavour
  • Cooking oil or bake upto you
  • Tahini sauce
  • Cabbage grate
  • Carrot grate
  • Green capsicum grate

METHOD

  • Put the soaked chicken peas in a grinder, add chopped onions, garlic cloves, coriander leaves, green chillies and grind all till a smooth mix form

  • Next make small balls, and deep fry, or shallow fry, or bake them until crispy and fully cooked.

  • Now add the veggies, that we grated, cabbage, carrot and green capsicum, in a seperate frying pan. Add two tbsp of cooking oil, and then add the veggies, sauté for 3 min, add salt, pepper , vinegar, soya sauce according to your taste.
  • Make 1 potato fries.
  • Now it’s the time to assemble
  • Take one tortilla wrap or pita bread, light toasted on both sides, add mayonnaise, mustard sauce, hot sauce, add sautéed veggies, put crispy falafels , drizzle the tahini sauce, french fries . Add onions, baby tomatoes for extra tanginess
  • Wrap it up like a delicious gift to yourself and take a big bite.

Tips and tricks

  • Make a big batch of falafel and freeze them, enjoy whenever your heart desire
  • Use lettuce wraps for healthier options
  • Make wraps with the ingredients available at your home or you can buy the preformed wraps from the store. But it’s better to make it at home fresh for flavour boost.
  • Before adding the onions , after cutting the onions first soak it in vinegar , to give extra kick.
